Exaggeration (Facial Expressions, Emotion, and Movement)

Exaggeration is used in animation in a couple ways: It could be used to show emotion, movement, and emphasis quickly. For example, Disney animated films often use characters with exaggerated expressions as they are only on screen for a short period of time and need to get the emotion across quickly.

Notable Example:

To make this animation, I exaggerated all of the character movements. Things like rapid typing, immense sweating, and deep, heavy breaths exaggerate working quickly. The shaky camera also intensifies the feeling.
